Named by Hans Van Der Laan after a trip to the area with a glacier research team headed by
Dr. William Long. "For the glacier draining into Eagle Lake and the peak at its head I
would like to submit the name "Flute." This name fits well with the musical theme followed
by the other features in the area, and it reflects the music that abounded there during the
